Wade Schofield Celebrates 35 Years at Scotchman!!

We're celebrating Wade Schofield's 35th work anniversary Today! He joined Scotchman in 1981 after graduating from the Denver Institute of Technology. Wade’s first official project at Scotchman was to update all the CNC machine programs, which, at that time, were stored on performed tapes. It was quite an undertaking, but Wade handled the job with ease. Once completing that project, he moved to the factory night shift and ran various machines. He soon decided that wasn’t for him and left Scotchman in 1982 for a different job. In November 1984, Wade rejoined the Company in their maintenance department. His skills were put to good use and he helped keep everything in the factory working – from mechanical to electronic (CNC machines) and everything in between.
In 1996, Wade transitioned into Scotchman’s IT (Information Technology- previously known as Computer/Data Processing) position, where he remains today. When Wade started in this position there were only five computers companywide and no network to speak of. Today, there are 50+ computers and miles of network cables at the Scotchman factory – not to mention many, many different software programs. As we all know, technology has changed dramatically in the last three decades and Scotchman is no exception. Data processing at Scotchman has really evolved over the years and Wade has been there every step of the way, keeping everything updated and functioning.

Wade is not only our in-house computer wizard; he is also very active in trouble shooting electronic issues for our customer service department.
